Textmarker STABILO BOSS MINI

Type: Packaging Design
I created an artist edition for the STABILO BOSS MINIs, featuring a black marker for the first time ever. The goal with this edition was to address a new group and introducing a new style to the BOSS MINIs.
Working closely with the Team at STABILO we developed 6 unique designs for each color, as well as the packaging design for the etui and designs for the displays in the stores. I also did some of the product photography and created a promotional video for the launch of the markers.
We started with a round of first ideas and collected possible phrases for the edition. The task was to come up with a different style for each marker, but still creating an overall cohesive look for the whole edition.
We further developed the concepts by exploring different color and layout options, such as this complementary and a vertical approach of the lettering.
While working out the ideas we thought it would be worth to explore the option to have colorful letterings on black background.
For the first time ever, the Minis should feature a black BOSS mini. After some ideas we went back to one of the first sketches initially made for the yellow marker and adapted it for a black marker.
The final selection. Each marker having its own style and characteristics while still being hold together by a cohesive style, which is made up of elements like the white lettering, fine details, a slightly darker background, and a shadow.
Packaging design first sketches
With the BOSS Minis wrapped, it was time to design the packaging. The task was to use all the colors of the BOSS Minis and to find a way to show the features of the black BOSS mini within the design.
Highlighting the black marker
To wrap up the packaging design we had to find a way to highlight the black marker as a new edition to the BOSS Minis.
Adaptation of the design
After the design for the 6er pack was ready we adopted it to different sizes and shapes to fit in the rage different displays and boxes that are going into the stores.
